For fifteen years, Chris was the National Park Ranger responsible for public access to the summit of Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England (978m). He therefore has a unique and in depth knowledge of this special place.
Reaching the summit of Scafell Pike is often the highlight of people’s visits to the Lake District, so why not make 2019 your year to make it to the top?
We’re very happy to offer advice about what to wear, what food to bring and just how fit you have to be – just get in touch.
We do have some spare kit which can be lent out to those who need it.
During his time working on Scafell Pike, Chris was closely involved with Three Peaks Challenges and a walk with us is a great opportunity to prepare yourselves for the full event – we do try to encourage people to do the Challenge in the most sustainable ways.
Our favourite route, leaves from Wasdale Head, which offers the shortest route to the top, but there are plenty of opportunities to vary the route up and down to match the needs of each party.
Chris is a qualified Mountain Leader and member of the Mountain Rescue Team, so rest assured you will be in safe hands.
Allow us to take away any concerns you may have about undertaking such a walk, so that you can relax and enjoy the day to the full.
So, if you’re on your own or part of a larger group, do get in touch to arrange your trip to the top of Scafell Pike and find out what it’s like to nibble Kendal Mint Cake on the top of England’s highest mountain!
