“The Lakeland Guide”
“The Lakeland Guide” is run by Chris and Colleen Berry-Henshaw.
Chris has worked in Countryside Management for the past 30 years. In the Lake District he has worked for the National Park, National Trust, Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Friends of the Lake District, giving him a wonderful knowledge and understanding of the area. He is a qualified Mountain Leader and member of the Duddon and Furnace Mountain Rescue Team.
The “Lakeland Guide” has become one of the best trusted walks and activity providers in the South Lakes with an emphasis on a friendly and fun approach to our walks and activities.
We believe that the Lake District is somewhere which can be appreciated in many different ways. It’s great to trek over the fell tops, but it’s equally as worthwhile to stroll along a river bank or along a winding lane and spend time in a more relaxed manner.
We live in the Woodland Valley, close to Broughton-in-Furness, in an isolated former Bobbin Mill Cottage with our two daughters, Beth and Imogen. Many of our walks and activities are based around Bobbin Mill Cottage, which will give participants a chance to sample a taste of “real” Lakeland. It has been said that one of Beatrix Potter’s gardeners used to live here!
